You can understand something logically and still find yourself reacting differently emotionally or physically. That's because insight alone doesn't always change what your mind and body have learned from experience.

You don't have to keep trying to think your way out of something your body learned to survive.

You may have thought:

How do I know what is actually mine to carry?

How do I stop blaming myself for things I can't control?

How do I feel safe enough to rest?

How do I trust myself again?

How do I make room for the life I actually want?

Hi, I’m Alysia.

Alysia W. McGlone, Founder of Embodied Moments Counseling Services

Our work may incorporate EMDR and other mind-body approaches to help you process memories and experiences that continue to shape how you respond in the present.

We’ll pay attention to nervous-system patterns, such as fight-or-flight responses, and help you acknowledge and understand your emotions, develop healthy ways of coping, establish and maintain boundaries, and practice assertiveness in relationships.

These approaches help us work with different aspects of your experience - memories, emotions, physiological responses, patterns, and skills.
